ITF 14 barcode generator
Use Labeljoy software to generate ITF 14 barcodes. ITF 14 is used mainly on freight shipments and packages containing coded with EAN 13 system. A digit is placed in front of the EAN 13 code to display the version of the package.
It always encodes 14 digits:
- The first digit is the logistics variant, also called “Packaging indicator”.
- The other 12 digits are the product number. Generally EAN 13 without the check digit.
- The last digit is the check digit.
The thick black border around the symbol is called the Bearer Bar. Labeljoy ITF 14 generator automatically creates Bearer Bar. The purpose of a Bearer Bar is to equalize the pressure exerted by the printing plate over the entire surface of the symbol.
How to generate ITF 14 barcode
Labeljoy ITF-14 generator requires you to enter 13 or 14 digits to generate the ITF 14 barcode, depending on the settings in the Checksum combo box.
Enter the 13 digits in the text box if the Checksum options is set to Yes, the 14th digit will be automatically added, otherwise enter 14 digits.
The need for a checksum in position 14 may vary depending on the applications used and the settings of the barcode scanner.
Bearer bars in ITF 14
The Frame combo box enables you to specify how the Bearer bars should be printed.
Text concatenation:
When an ITF-14 barcode element is generated by concatenating fields or counters, the following rules apply:
If a value is found that does not comply with the above rules, the barcode will not be displayed.
The visually readable text can also be displayed above the symbol or hidden, according to the setting specified in the Text combo box.
