The page element tab is used to edit page elements.
The Insert group only shows the New button which is used to enter page element add mode. By clicking it, a list of predefined, commonly used elements is shown.
Depending on the settings set in Option/Advanced, by clicking this button you will be either required to draw a rectangle with the mouse in the position where you want the new element to appear or a new page element will automatically appear.
The Text group is where all text editing takes place.
The Reference button shows a popup menu with a list of environmental references that can be added to the text.

The text box enables you to enter and concatenate custom text as well as references.

This text box supports zoom. Click to activate it and use the mouse wheel while holding the CTRL key button down
The following section in the Text group contains a rich text edit tool bar that enables you to change the appearance of your text, or parts of it, depending on the selection.
The Style group contains the following buttons:
- Pen - The general color of the text. If you set a specific color in the text using the text tool bar, it will override this settings.
- Style - Several options to define the horizontal fitting of the text.
The Image group is where you can define a source image:
- File - Click this button to link a static image to this page element.
- Clipart - Displays the Clipart window, enabling you to select a clipart from Labeljoy's built-in library. See Using cliparts for more information.
- Scanner - Enables you to load a static image directly from a scanner connected to the PC.
- Remove - Deletes the currently selected static image or field.
The Container group contains the following items, common to all other element types:
- Background - Define the background style and color for the element.
- Frame - Define a frame around the element, including line size, style and color.
- Shape - Define the shape of the element, selecting between rectangle, oval and polygon.
- Shadow - Define a drop shadow for the element or part of it, ie: only the text and not the frame.
The Clipboard group, common to all element types, contains the commands to cut, copy, paste and delete the selected elements.
The Edit group is also common to all element types and contains useful editing command that enable to change the placement of selected elements.

The last group, Advanced, is also common to all element types and contains 2 buttons:
- Lock - To place a temporary lock on the element so that the mouse won't have any effect on it.
- Advanced - To show the settings window for the selected element, which enables to fine-tune element settings.
